Malaria in Pregnancy (MIP) is a UNICEF supported project to control malaria in pregnancy especially in the highly endemic malaria provinces of Eastern Indonesia. The incidence of malaria in pregnancy in Eastern Indonesia is 3.9 %, affecting about 180,000pregnancy per year (HHS 2001).
This project strengthens the ability of vulnerable, upland communities in ecologically fragile areas of East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara to effectively respond to the impacts of climate change, and reduce their risk of damages due to the increased disasters they may face as a result of climate change. The holistic approach addresses vulnerabilities at the ecosystem level through multi-stakeholder collaboration.
