USAID provides support to expand UNICEF’s Green and Clean Slums concept to three cities in Eastern Indonesia and Jakarta. USAID support focuses on improving water and sanitation in urban communities by building the capacity of water utilities and city water and sanitation working groups, providing community and school facilities, and improving solid waste management.
The goal of the Stakeholder Coordination, Advocacy, Linkages and Engagement for Resilience (SCALE) Project is to improve the resiliency of populations vulnerable to natural hazards and impacts of climate change through strengthening the capacity of government, civil society, and the private sector to reduce risks and adapt to climate change.
This project strengthens the ability of vulnerable, upland communities in ecologically fragile areas of East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara to effectively respond to the impacts of climate change, and reduce their risk of damages due to the increased disasters they may face as a result of climate change. The holistic approach addresses vulnerabilities at the ecosystem level through multi-stakeholder collaboration.
The Coral Triangle Support Partnership-Indonesia (CTSP-I) is a collaborative five-year project to bring about the protection of marine systems and their myriad habitats for the benefit and sustainable livelihoods of communities across the Coral Triangle Region of Indonesia.

NOAA is providing training in key areas to support Indonesia’s participation in the Coral Triangle Initiative. Training focuses on developing a sustainable approach to fisheries management and strengthening management of marine protected areas.
This program will focus on increasing production of targeted high-value commodities like cocoa, coffee and horticulture, expanding rural access to credit, and advocating for pro-farmer regulatory reform.
