“The Pathway to Achieving MDGs 4 & 5” (ACHIEVE) is implemented in four Eastern Indonesian provinces by UNICEF.
Malaria in Pregnancy (MIP) is a UNICEF supported project to control malaria in pregnancy especially in the highly endemic malaria provinces of Eastern Indonesia. The incidence of malaria in pregnancy in Eastern Indonesia is 3.9 %, affecting about 180,000pregnancy per year (HHS 2001).
USAID provides support to expand UNICEF’s Green and Clean Slums concept to three cities in Eastern Indonesia and Jakarta. USAID support focuses on improving water and sanitation in urban communities by building the capacity of water utilities and city water and sanitation working groups, providing community and school facilities, and improving solid waste management.
