The project will provide piped water supply to about 200,000 poor people in peri-urbanized and poor areas in Indonesia. This will be done by (i) financing and constructing water intake and treatment facilities;
(ii) building the capacity of local government and community organizations and associated agencies, to design, finance, operate and maintain the distribution system; and (iii) raising awareness with poor communities on the health benefits of piped and treated water supply to raise demand for piped water supply systems.
