Indonesia Council Open Conference: Call for Panels and Papers

The ANU Indonesia Institute invites panel and paper proposals for the Indonesia Council Open Conference (ICOC), 19-21 November 2019. The ICOC is a large biennial conference featuring scholarly presentations and discussion of all aspects of Indonesia. The conference is a unique opportunity to present and discuss Indonesia-related research and we encourage both disciplinary and inter-disciplinary focus in panels. Submissions are welcome from established scholars in all disciplines, as well as from postgraduate and graduate students and other experts to present their research.

The program will feature a mixture of special events, including keynotes and special panels on Indonesia and the state of Indonesian studies. It will begin with a postgraduate workshop on 19 November.

Sessions will run for 90 minutes. We have a preference for submission of organised panels (maximum four papers + one discussant) but individual papers are also accepted, especially from postgraduate students. The panel chair should submit all material (including presenter details, paper titles and abstracts, for organised panels).

Conference participation is free of charge. Please note, however, that as part of the registration process you will be able to pay a small charge to cover meals during the duration of the conference and to attend the conference dinner.

Please note that the conference organising committee can under no circumstances provide financial support for participation in the conference.

Deadline for submission of papers and panel proposals 1 June 2019. Submissions can be made via the form below.

Outcomes will be advised by 1 July 2019, and registration for the conference and associated events will also be available at that time.
