The Program
The Australian and Indonesian Governments workin partnership to improve quality of learning, particularly literacy andnumeracy learning, in Indonesia. The Innovation for Indonesia’s School ChildrenProgram (INOVASI) works to understand and improve learning challenges inprimary school classrooms across Indonesia. INOVASI strives to solvelearning challenges by developing solutions that are context relevant. Using a unique approach based on human centred design principles, we work withteachers, principals and local officials to identify what problems need to besolved in order to improve education and learning.
Grant Partnership Opportunity
INOVASI is looking to partner with like-mindednon-governmental organisations (NGOs), civil society organisations (CSOs),universities, research institutions, and businesses to improve learningoutcomes for Indonesian children in literacy and numeracy. INOVASI is offeringgrant funding to partner organisations keen on implementing educationactivities such as:
1. Professional skills training for teachers and/or school leaders.
These partnerships will likely include structured in-service trainingprograms for primary school teachers in literacy or numeracy, or for schoolprincipals in school leadership.
2. Community-based programs
These partnerships will likely include community library programs,reading gardens, reading clubs, book writing workshops, reading cultureprograms, maths or science clubs, community-based programs for children withspecial needs, and indigenous culture programs which support learning in locallanguages..
3. Coalitions of change
These will likely bealliances or coalitions between diverse partners with a common interest toimprove literacy, numeracy or inclusion among Indonesian children. Suchprograms may include partnerships between publishers or suppliers of children’sbooks, local government, local libraries, community groups, schools and/orindustry.
