Calling for bids in Indonesia: Modern slavery programme

The British Embassy Jakarta is launching a call for bids for its 2018/19 programme tackling modern slavery, forced labour and human trafficking.

he UK government is committed to the eradication of all forms of modern slavery by 2030, as unanimously adopted at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in 2015.

This year, we are particularly interested in project proposals aiming towards the following outcomes:

  • Victim identification/reintegration – Indonesia’s government and civil society actors are better able to identify victims of modern slavery and direct victims towards available services and support for reintegration.
  • Building the evidence base – Improved data collection, sharing, and coordination among government agencies and/or frontline organisations to strengthen the design and implementation of the national anti-trafficking strategy.
  • Criminal Justice success – Improved prosecution rates through training for judges, prosecutors and police on anti-trafficking laws and better cooperation throughout cases.

Bid guidance

  • Projects are funded for a single financial year running from 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2019, with no guarantee of continued funding beyond this period. Nevertheless we encourage bidders to include costed proposals for activities up to March 2020 where a 2 year programme is more appropriate.
  • Minimum budget limit: £50,000 per financial year
  • Maximum budget limit: £100,000 per financial year

Assessment

Bids will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • Alignment with the above mentioned priorities and outcomes
  • Outcomes are achievable within the funding period
  • Project design includes clear monitoring and evaluation procedures
  • Sustainability demonstrating that project benefits continue after the funding ends
  • Risk and financial accountability procedures
  • The organisation’s safeguarding policies that ensure protection of beneficiaries
  • Overall value for money
