Climate change may be the defining issue of the 21st century, as humankind faces responsibilities for its actions upon the global community. The report Universalism and Ethical Values for the Environment, is the product of more than two years of consultative workshops and discussions conducted across the region under the Ethics and Climate Change in Asia and the Pacific (ECCAP) project. This volume is the first in a series of working group reports from the ECCAP project. The opinions in the final report are those of the authors, reflecting discussions among dozens of philosophers, engineers, scientists and social scientists from many countries.
