Project Summary:

The main components of the project are as follows:
COMPONENT 1: STRENGTHENING FARMER-DRIVEN EXTENSIONThis is the core component of FEATI and will include the following sub-components: (i) Policy-support for implementation of the new Extension Law (ii) Farmer-Managed Activities (FMA) Grants (village, district, province) (iii) Support to Farmers Organizations (iv) Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building (district, province) (v) Agricultural Education and Training (vi) Strengthening Kecamatan Extension Services.
COMPONENT 2. TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO EXTENSION: (i) Improving linkages with BPTPs (ii) Provision of information and knowledge services
COMPONENT 3. PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT: This component will help support the overall functioning of the Central Project Management Unit (CPMU) in AAHRD. The CPMU will have the overall responsibility for the M&E activities, commissioning and implementation of baseline, satisfaction, and other surveys, and supervision of the Environmental Management Plan. In addition, this component will support the establishment of the district and provincial management units as well as the technical implementation units.
The overall development objective of the Project is to develop a demand-driven, market oriented agricultural services system, based on partnerships between farmer groups, public agencies and private sector enterprises at all levels.
