POSITION SUMMARY:

Humber’s Sulawesi Economic Development Strategy Project (SEDS) is a five-year project working with seven universities in South and North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Project activities will address three key areas across the seven universities: i) capacity development of the university partners to infuse applied entrepreneurship skills into curriculum, ii) capacity development of the university  partners to deliver SME support services student entrepreneurs and micro and small enterprises, and iii) fostering networks among university, government, business and NGO stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Humber requires an experienced Entrepreneurship Technical Advisor to support the implementation of key project activities in both North and South Sulawesi.

Under the general supervision of the Canadian Project Manager and reporting on a day-to-day basis to the Field Manager, the Entrepreneurship Technical Advisor will:

1) support and provide advice to SEDS Project Coordinators at all 7 universities related to:

 

  • finalizing & implementing new/improved applied entrepreneurship curriculum
  • agreeing on the objectives of the Business Centre
  • finalizing the implementation plan for the Business Centre
  • agreeing on objectives for networking activities
  • identifying networking activities
  • using social media and other information sharing platforms

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 2) support and provide advice to the SEDS Field Manager and Canadian Project Manager to:

 

  • determine the strategy for delivering capacity building to 7 universities for developing business centres
  • identify potential resource persons for developing business centres
  • build networks
  • create an information sharing platform and use social media

 

 

 

 

3) plan and deliver an entrepreneurship bench-marking visit for selected lecturers from 7 universities

 

 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • MA in a relevant field
  • 5 years’ experience working in projects focused on entrepreneurship
  • Experience developing entrepreneurship curriculum
  • Experience working with universities in Indonesia
  • Experience delivering business services
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship in the post-secondary education sector in Indonesia
  • Experience building partnerships and networks
  • Ability to communicate in English and Indonesian (written/spoken)
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
